Sofia Bazakou

Sofia Bazakou is a Data Engineer at The Hyve since October 2019, where involvement includes multiple projects related to the OMOP CDM and participation in OHDSI working groups. Prior to this role, Sofia took a sabbatical from June 2014 to June 2019, during which time a move to California occurred, accompanied by completion of a Machine Learning course. Sofia's experience encompasses work as a Research Assistant at Newcastle University, focusing on complete-case analysis of clinical trials, and as a self-employed mathematics tutor, providing support to secondary-level students over several years. Additionally, Sofia worked as a call centre representative at Hellenic Telecommunications Organisation. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Mathematics from Durham University and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Ethnikon kai Kapodistriakon Panepistimion Athinon, along with time spent at Technische Universität Wien.
