Michael Day

Michael Day is an experienced journalist with a strong background in foreign news, feature writing, and opinion pieces. Currently serving as the Foreign Editor at i newspaper since April 2016, responsibilities include commissioning, editing, and writing for both online and print media. Michael Day has also been the Rome Correspondent for The Independent since June 2009, providing insights and commentary from Italy. Prior to this, a decade of experience in communications consultancy work was gained through roles at prominent PR firms, where campaign planning and content marketing were essential, including work for clients like GlaxoSmithKline and contributions to reports for NGOs such as the World Food Programme. Michael Day holds degrees from City St George’s, University of London, and The University of Sheffield.
