Susan Riley

Founder, President & CEO at The Institute for Arts Integration and STEAM

Susan Riley is the founder and CEO of The Institute for Arts Integration and STEAM. Susan has dedicated their career to promoting arts education and has been a teacher and administrator intern for Howard County Public Schools since 2005.

In 2007, Susan researched and presented arts integration as a viable school improvement option. From there, they designed, coordinated and implemented the program with great success. It is now a school-wide program with wide county and community support.

As the music teacher and Related Arts Team Leader, Susan was able to advocate for the needs of their team and provide unique insights into students throughout the school. Susan was conscious to create a positive team experience using team building strategies to build a support unit for the related arts teachers.

In 2010, the Arts Integration program at Thunder Hill Elementary won the Maryland State School of Excellence in the Arts (through the Kennedy Center) award. This was a testament to Susan's dedication to promoting arts education.

Susan continues to be an advocate for arts education and is committed to providing teachers with the resources they need to succeed. Susan is an innovative thinker and leader in the field of arts education.
