Gillian Mcewan

Director at THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF BOOK-KEEPERS

Gillian has had an extensive and varied career as a business owner running numerous enterprises in Scotland over the past 20 years. She consolidated her entrepreneurial instincts and business acumen by studying Business Administration at the University of Stirling.

Gillian is extremely active in the small business community and became a member of the Federation of Small Businesses in 2002. She was appointed branch chair for Perth and Kinross, progressing to the position of National Councillor for North East Scotland.

She later joined FSB’s Executive Board (2015) where as Operations Director she was involved in the modernisation of the organisation and ensuring members’ interests were at the forefront of any changes. Gillian understands the pressures of self-employment and the importance of good financial advice and she now takes her extensive business and board level experience to her position as Director at the International Association of Bookkeepers.

Throughout her career, Gillian has been a mentor to others and has worked with organisations including the Careers Academy and a programme for “Developing the Young Workforce”, as well as volunteering for charitable causes.
