Alejandra Bernal-Guzmán

Alejandra Bernal-Guzmán is a seasoned professional in the energy and legal sectors, currently serving as a Latin America Programme Officer at the International Energy Agency since November 2021. Previously, Bernal-Guzmán held the position of Head of International Affairs at the Ministerio de Minas y Energía from March 2019 to October 2021, where a notable role included being appointed as a permanent member of the Gender Affairs Committee. Additionally, Bernal-Guzmán has worked as a Legal Advisor for EEDAS S.A. E.S.P. and as Chairperson for Gómez-Pinzón. With academic credentials that include a Master’s in Environment and Sustainable Development from UCL and a Doctor of Law from Universidad de Los Andes, Bernal-Guzmán possesses a robust foundation in law and environmental issues, further supported by experience in academia as a Teaching Assistant at Universidad de los Andes.
