Catherine Murphy (Cassie)

Catherine (Cassie) Murphy is a research coordinator at The International Foundation for Electoral Systems since November 2021, with prior roles as a research associate and research team member at the Turkish Heritage Organization. Catherine's experience includes serving as a research fellow at Pay Our Interns, where detailed policy analysis was provided to abolish unpaid internships, and as an emerging leaders fellow with the United Nations Association of the United States of America, focusing on advocacy and messaging projects. Catherine also held leadership positions as a senior youth organizer with TOMORROW WE VOTE, chapter director of advocacy for the College Democrats of America, and lead organizer for Dons for Fair Tuition, where significant policy wins were achieved. Catherine's background includes conducting policy research with the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency and interning with the California State Assembly. Catherine holds a Bachelor's Degree in International Studies from the University of San Francisco.
