Trent Nichols has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Trent currently serves as the Director of Information Technology at The International Foundation for Electoral Systems, a position they have held since February 2021. Prior to this, Trent was a Volunteer Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer at NGO-ISAC, an organization focused on facilitating communication among nonprofit organizations under attack from threat actors.
Trent's extensive experience in information technology also includes their role as the Director of Information Technology and Services at The Aspen Institute from 2001 to 2019. During their time there, they collaborated with various functional areas to implement policies related to cybersecurity, risk management, and network security. Trent led the Institute's IT organization, overseeing the design, building, and operation of IT infrastructure supporting all business activities.
Before joining The Aspen Institute, Trent worked as a Systems Administrator at the American Insurance Association from 1997 to 2001. Trent also gained experience as a Help Desk Associate at the National Retail Federation from 1995 to 1997, and as a Consultant/Software Developer at Sensory Computing Inc from 1992 to 1995.
Trent Nichols obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from Syracuse University, where they studied from 1987 to 1991.
