Justin Atchison

Justin Atchison has significant work experience in the field of engineering. Justin began their career as a Mechanical Engineer Summer Intern at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory in 2003, where they assisted the metrology group and designed a hoist mechanism for a telescope survey. Justin then worked as a Mechanical Engineer Summer Intern at Orbital Sciences Corporation in 2004. In 2005, Justin served as a Mechanical Engineer at the US Army Engineering Research and Development Center. Justin also concurrently worked as a Graduate Research Assistant in Aerospace Engineering at Cornell University, where they conducted research under Dr. Mason Peck as part of their PhD program. In 2008, Justin worked as an Aerospace Engineer at the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency, where they designed and evaluated orbit trajectories for a proposed solar polar observatory. Since 2010, Justin has been serving as a Principal Professional Engineer at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory.

Justin Atchison pursued their education in the field of engineering. Justin earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Louisiana Tech University from 2001 to 2005. Following this, they completed their Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering at Cornell University from 2005 to 2010.
