Yevgeniya Pinelis

Yevgeniya (Jane) Pinelis, Ph.D., serves as the Chief AI Engineer at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory and holds an adjunct faculty position at Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering. With a robust background in artificial intelligence, Dr. Pinelis previously led AI Assurance efforts at the DoD Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office and was the inaugural Chief of Test and Evaluation at the DoD Joint Artificial Intelligence Center. Prior roles include Director of Test and Evaluation of Algorithmic Warfare at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory and various positions at the Institute for Defense Analyses and CNA Corporation, focusing on data-driven analysis, testing, and evaluation for national security applications. Dr. Pinelis earned a Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of Michigan, where additional degrees in Statistics, Economics, and Mathematics were also completed.
