Garrett Pluhar-Schaeffer, LCSW, is an experienced psychotherapist currently working at The Juniper Center since July 2020. Prior to this role, Garrett held positions as a psychotherapist at Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago and as an Exploring Psychoanalysis Fellow at the Chicago Psychoanalytic Institute. Additional experience includes serving as a Community Support Specialist at Thresholds and a Clinical Social Work Intern at Jewish Child & Family Services. Garrett also contributed to the arts as a Music Instructor at Allegro Music Center and held a board position with the Park Ridge Civic Orchestra. Educationally, Garrett is working towards a certificate in Child Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from the Chicago Psychoanalytic Institute and holds a Master of Social Work from Erikson Institute, as well as graduate work in Music History and Theory from Stony Brook University. A Bachelor of Arts in Music and Philosophy was earned from Lake Forest College.
