The Juniper Center
Ella Petersen, LSW, is a dedicated clinician currently working at The Juniper Center since March 2023, with previous clinical experience at Adventure Works of DeKalb County, Inc. and The Northwest Passage. Ella has a strong background in group facilitation and mental health support, demonstrated through a program intern role at Chicago Adventure Therapy NFP, where responsibilities included developing online group check-ins and enhancing DEI initiatives within outdoor programming. Academic credentials include a Master of Social Work from Erikson Institute and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Knox College. In addition to clinical roles, Ella has held positions in customer experience and retail, showcasing a diverse skill set in both therapeutic and customer-facing environments.

The Juniper Center provides expert, individualized care by 60+ clinicians in five Chicagoland locations and throughout the state of Illinois via teletherapy. The Juniper Center specializes in trauma recovery, depression and anxiety, diverse sexuality and gender identities, addiction treatment, and relationship and family therapy. Founded by Dr. Margo Jacquot in 1996, The Juniper Center is one of the largest women-owned counseling and therapy practices in the area, and provides counseling and psychotherapy, psychiatry and medication management, therapeutic yoga and movement therapy, and psychological testing services for all ages. The Juniper Center takes its name from the juniper tree: Resilient beyond measure, growing and thriving in the most barren of places; shaped by the wind and sun, its trunk becomes a beautiful, majestic sculpture amidst treacherous terrain.
