Gaby Estrada

Project Managing Coordinator at The Justice Collective

Gaby Estrada has a diverse and extensive work experience in various organizations. Gaby started in 2014 as a Student Researcher at the University of California, Center for Comparative Immigration Studies. There, they conducted interviews and coordinated research activities in Mexico and the United States. In 2015, they worked as a Community Engagement Intern at Ocean View Growing Grounds, where they developed strategies for community engagement and built partnerships to increase garden participation.

Gaby then became a UC Global Food Initiative Fellow at the University of California Office of the President, where they investigated sustainable ways to engage diverse communities in food initiatives and presented their findings to shape policy discussions. In 2017, they worked as an Urban Programs Research Assistant at the Institute at the Golden Gate, conducting research and interviews to develop policies benefiting underrepresented communities in parks and cities.

From 2018 to 2022, Gaby joined Sustainable Solano, first as a Project Coordinator, coordinating project operations for green infrastructure programs, and then as a Program Manager. In their role, they managed program costs, schedules, and processes, monitored project grants and contracts, and spearheaded partnerships for community-centered projects.

Most recently, in 2022, Gaby joined The Justice Collective as a Project Managing Coordinator.

Gaby Estrada attended UC San Diego from 2013 to 2016, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. In 2019, Gaby also obtained a Permaculture Design Certificate from OCCIDENTAL ARTS & ECOLOGY CENTER. Additionally, they have a certification in Facilitative Leadership for Social Change from the Interaction Institute for Social Change, although the specific month and year of obtaining this certification are not provided.
