Miguel also spent significant years at Henkel, where they held various roles such as Marketing Director, Senior Brand Manager, Senior Key Account Manager, and Brand Manager. Their experience at Henkel included brand management, brand re-launch, and team leadership. Miguel Machado has a strong education background, with a focus on business and management. In 2007, they attended the IESE Business School, where they completed a Programa de Direção de Empresas (PDE). In 2004, they participated in an Innovation Management Program at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa. Prior to that, in 2003, they completed a management program at the Cranfield School of Management. Miguel also holds a Master's degree in Marketing from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, which they obtained from 1996 to 1997. Their academic journey began with a Licentiate degree in Communication Sciences, with a specialization in Marketing, from the Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa, which they completed from 1992 to 1996.
