Ronan MacSweeney

Ronan MacSweeney currently serves as the Junior Vice President and Council Member (Non Executive Director) at The Law Society of NSW, where additional roles include Chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee and Deputy Chair of the Government Solicitors Committee. Since January 2022, Ronan has also held the position of Head of Legal & Company Secretary at BaptistCare NSW & ACT. Previously, Ronan was the Deputy General Counsel (Executive Director) at Transport for NSW and Senior Legal Counsel at Stockland. Early career experience includes roles as Senior Associate at Piper Alderman and Minter Ellison, as well as a Solicitor and Trainee Solicitor at McCann FitzGerald. Ronan's educational background includes a Fellow designation from the Governance Institute of Australia, a Graduate from the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and degrees in Law and Economics from the University of Galway, as well as an LL.M from The University of Edinburgh and qualifications from the Law School at Law Society of Ireland and Leiden University.
