Romain Williams, Director of Compliance, joined Lawson in 2011. He began his career as a leasing consultant and recertification specialist, and later as a property manager before joining the compliance department.
Romain oversees the compliance team as well as all facets of regulatory compliance for a diverse affordable apartment community portfolio with properties consisting of Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), Housing and Urban Development (HUD) project-based section 8, Rural Development (RD) Section 515, tax-exempt and taxable bonds in Virginia. The compliance team reviews annual certifications as well as 100% of all first-year files. Lawson maintains an outstanding track record with third-party file compliance audits. Romain also develops and conducts compliance training for our growing residential property portfolio.
Romain earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Norfolk State University. He is a licensed real estate salesperson in Virginia and also holds the following designations: Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP), Assisted Housing Manager (AHM), Registered Apartment Management (RAM), and S.T.A.R. Rural Development.
