Meghna Philip

Meghna Philip currently serves as the Director of Special Litigation at The Legal Aid Society, a position held since February 2025. Prior to this, Meghna was the Deputy Director of the Impact Litigation Practice at The Bronx Defenders, where responsibilities included leading a team of attorneys in impactful litigation efforts from November 2023 to January 2025. From September 2019 to November 2023, Meghna held the title of Special Litigation Attorney at Neighborhood Defender Service, focusing on systemic reform and advancing client rights. Earlier roles include Staff Attorney at Neighborhood Defender Service's Criminal Defense Practice and Johnnie L. Cochran Fellow at Neufeld Scheck & Brustin, LLP, where Meghna contributed to high-stakes civil rights litigation. Meghna's legal journey began as a Law Clerk for U.S. District Courts and has included various internships and advocacy positions while earning a Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Brown University.
