CTO Networking, Edge/iot And Access at The Linux Foundation

Ranny Haiby has a diverse background in the technology industry, spanning over two decades. Ranny currently holds the position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Networking, Edge/IoT, and Access at The Linux Foundation, starting in March 2022. Prior to this, Ranny served as the Technical Advisory Council Vice-chair and Marketing Advisory Council Member at Linux Foundation Networking from June 2019, where they led cross-community open source collaboration initiatives and authored white papers promoting adoption of Linux Foundation Networking projects.

From March 2017, Ranny was a member of the Technical Steering Committee at ONAP Project, shaping the project roadmap and serving as a thought leader and champion for the cloud-native transformation of ONAP. Before that, they worked as the Director of Open Source Software at Samsung Electronics starting in January 2019, where they drove collaboration with partners and customers through open source software.

Ranny's career also includes a significant period at Nokia, from June 2011 to January 2019, where they served as a Principal Architect. In this role, they led the system architecture design of cloud and networking orchestration systems and advocated for the use of open source at Nokia. Prior to Nokia, Ranny owned a consultancy business as a Product Management Consultant from February 2009 to June 2011.

Earlier in their career, Ranny held various positions at RayV, Juniper Networks, and Vocaltec Communications. At RayV, they worked as a Technical Product Manager/Architect, leading system architecture work and designing and deploying a grid platform in multiple global datacenters. At Juniper Networks, they served as a Senior Staff Engineer from August 2000 to October 2006. Ranny's career began at Vocaltec Communications, where they worked as a Systems Integration Manager from May 1996 to July 2000.
