Sumer Johal

Sumer S. Johal serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Semios, a leader in digital solutions for precision agriculture dedicated to enhancing food security and environmental sustainability. Since May 2021, Sumer acts as Executive Director for AgStack at The Linux Foundation, focusing on developing open digital infrastructure for global food and agriculture stakeholders. Involvement with The Sikh Health Network as a Board Member underscores a commitment to community health initiatives, while providing strategic advisory support to FTW Ventures facilitates mentorship for food and agriculture tech startups. Sumer founded and led Agralogics, a big-data IT company for the food industry, and held the CEO position at Agni Corporation, concentrating on clean technology and renewable energy. Prior technological leadership includes co-founding Pivotal Systems and serving as CTO at Advanced Energy Industries and Xamplify. Sumer holds both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
