Klallam Language Teacher at Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe

Jonathan Arakawa is an accomplished educational professional and advocate for Native American youth with extensive experience in teaching, curriculum development, and leadership. Currently serving as a Klallam Language Teacher with the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe and Adjunct Faculty at Peninsula College, Jonathan has pioneered initiatives to promote indigenous languages and cultures in educational settings. As Male Co-President of UNITY inc. and Youth Commission Co-Vice President for the National Congress of American Indians, Jonathan actively engages in advocacy for tribal sovereignty and representation of Native youth. Additional contributions include serving as a substitute teacher, mentoring roles, and various leadership positions across committees focused on Native American interests. Jonathan is pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in the Native Pathways Program at The Evergreen State College.
