Matt Kipp

Matt Kipp has held various positions in the IT and security industry since 2002. Matt began their career as a Support Technician at Central Michigan University's Office of Residence Life in 2002. In 2003, they became a Systems Consulting Analyst at Affiliated Computer Services. From 2006 to 2014, they worked at Ally as an SAP Security Manager, SAP Senior Security Analyst, and IT Audit Manager. In 2014, they became Lead Analyst - SAP GRC at General Motors. Since 2015, they have been the Director of IT Risk at The Mako Group, LLC. In this role, they have performed risk assessments in various industries, created risk registers, and assisted clients with implementing FAIR and RISKLENS. Matt has also conducted critical data mapping projects, served as an IT Auditor, and managed Third-Party Risk Management Projects. Additionally, they have been involved in the testing for a SOC2 report, assisted in the evidence gathering and testing for a government entity for a critical application and infrastructure audit, generated sales leads, and created statements of work for clients. Matt has also been involved in the strategic direction of the company and with new lines of business, conducted CMMC Readiness Assessments, and presented at cybersecurity conferences.

Matt Kipp's education history includes a High School Diploma from Flint Carman-Ainsworth High School, obtained in 1999, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus in Management Information Systems from Central Michigan University, obtained in 2003, a Graduate Certificate in SAP from Central Michigan University, obtained in 2009, and an MBA from Central Michigan University, obtained in 2009. In addition, Matt Kipp has obtained certifications from ISACA (CISA in 2016), HITRUST (Certified CSF Practitioner - CCSFP in 2019), IBITGQ (ISO27001 Certified ISMS Lead Implementer (CIS LI)), and SAP (TERP10: mySAP ERP Integrated Business Processes Certification).
