Carroll Bogert

Strategic Advisor at The Marshall Project

Carroll Bogert is an experienced professional in the fields of journalism and human rights advocacy. Currently serving as a Strategic Advisor and President at The Marshall Project since March 2016, Carroll previously held the position of Deputy Executive Director at Human Rights Watch from January 1998 to March 2016. Prior to that, Carroll worked at Newsweek from January 1987 to January 1998, where responsibilities included roles as Moscow Bureau Chief, correspondent in Hong Kong, stringer in Beijing, and roving International Correspondent and Acting Foreign Editor. Carroll holds a Master's degree in East Asian Studies and a Bachelor's degree in Social Studies, both from Harvard University.
