The Maryland Zoo
Gavin Phillips is a professional Capital Projects Engineer at The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore since June 2021, with extensive volunteer experience at the National Aquarium since October 2006, including roles as a Volunteer Diver, Animal Rescue Seal Rehabilitation volunteer, Aquarist Assistant, and Exhibit Guide. Prior to the current role, Gavin held various positions at KCI Technologies, Inc. as a Bookkeeper and Construction Inspector from March 2016 to June 2021, and gained additional experience at the University of Delaware from July 2014 to July 2015 as a Museum Attendant and Research Assistant. Earlier temporary roles included Assistant Surveyor at JS Dallas and Range Technician at Jacobs. Gavin holds a degree in Geological Sciences from the University of Delaware, completed in 2015, and an Associate's degree in Photography from Harford Community College, earned in 2011.
