Samantha Amaker

Samantha Amaker is an experienced animal care professional with a strong background in zoology and animal biology. Currently serving as an Animal Keeper Specialist at The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore since July 2022, Samantha previously worked as a Zookeeper at ZOOWORLD ZOOLOGICAL AND BOTANICAL CONSERVATORY INC and held roles at The Maryland Zoo in earlier capacities focused on animal behavior and husbandry. Prior to this, Samantha gained valuable experience as an Administrative Specialist at the Sheet Metal Workers’ National Pension Fund, and as a Lead Veterinary Technician at Waldorf Emergency Care Wecare, where skills in veterinary support and patient care were honed. An educational foundation in zoology was established at the State University of New York at Oswego, where a Bachelor's degree was earned between 2018 and 2020.
