Irving McConnell has extensive work experience in the biodefense, biomedical, and health sciences industries. Irving served as the CEO of The McConnell Group, Inc., overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company. Prior to that, Irving served in the US Army as a Veterinary Officer for over 27 years, both in active duty and reserves, where they led medical and veterinary teams on international projects and supported the US Department of Defense in responding to emerging infections and influenza. Irving also worked as a Director of Lab Animal Medicine & Toxicology at the Immunobiology Research Institute and as a Veterinarian at SmikthKline Beecham.
Irving McConnell holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Tuskegee University, with a specialization in Veterinary Medicine. Irving also completed the Kellogg Advanced Management Program at Northwestern University. Additionally, McConnell obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Tuskegee University, majoring in Animal Sciences and minoring in Business. Irving is currently an active holder of a Maryland Veterinary License, a Pennsylvania Veterinary License, and is recognized as a USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) Category II Accredited Veterinarian.
