Sherry Black

Sherry Black has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Sherry is currently working as an Executive Assistant to the Head of School at The McGillis School since 2022. Prior to that, they worked as an Executive Assistant for the Girl Scouts of Utah starting in 2018.

In 2017, Sherry worked as a Gallery Coordinator at Marianne Boesky Gallery where they handled various aspects such as shipping, installation, and storage of artworks, as well as overseeing day-to-day operations and facility maintenance.

From 2008 to 2017, Sherry held multiple roles at the Aspen Art Museum, including Curatorial Associate and Archivist, Curatorial Assistant, Executive Assistant to the Director, Visitor Services Coordinator, and Art Handler. In these positions, they were involved in exhibition coordination, research, scheduling, and staffing management.

Earlier in their career, Sherry worked as a Printmaking Intern at Anderson Ranch Arts Center in 2008, where they assisted with maintaining printmaking facilities and supported instructors and students during workshops. Sherry also served as an Instructor for Basic Printmaking and Life Drawing at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2007 and 2006, respectively.

Sherry Black completed their education in the field of fine arts. Sherry obtained a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Printmaking from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, attending from 2006 to 2008. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Drawing and Printmaking from Utah State University, studying from 2000 to 2003. Sherry began their academic journey at Snow College, where they pursued an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Fine/Studio Arts, General, from 1998 to 2000.

In addition to their formal education, Sherry Black has also completed the Project Management Fundamentals Program offered by the University of Utah in April 2022.
