Mat Dougherty

Mat joined McShane Construction in 2000 and worked his way up through the company, assuming the role of President in 2021. Over the past 20 years, he has proven himself a strategic visionary and has demonstrated the utmost dedication to furthering the company’s mission.

Mat oversees the firm’s national construction activities from its headquarters office in Rosemont, Illinois, and five regional offices in Auburn, Alabama, Irvine, California, Madison, Wisconsin, Nashville, Tennessee, and Phoenix, Arizona. He is responsible for identifying new business expansion opportunities and providing ongoing strategic planning to support further growth within specific product types and geographic locales. Mat is a graduate of Marquette University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and Northwestern University where he attended the Kellogg School of Management for a Master of Business Administration. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Illinois.
