Ben White

Deputy Medical Director at Medical Protection Society

Ben White has a diverse work experience spanning multiple organizations and roles. Ben is currently working at the Medical Protection Society as the Deputy Medical Director, a position they have held since January 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Cases Team Lead for Member Protection and Support, Medicolegal Consultant, and Medicolegal Adviser at the same company from 2016 to 2019.

Before joining the Medical Protection Society, Ben worked as a Director at OPL Enterprises from 2006 to 2017. Ben also served as a General Practitioner at The Ridings Medical Group from 2015 to 2016 and as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Hull York Medical School from 2015 to 2016.

During their time at the East Riding of Yorkshire Clinical Commissioning Group, Ben held roles as the Clinical Lead for Primary Care from 2014 to 2016 and the Clinical Lead for Community Services Strategy Redesign from 2015 to 2016.

Prior to that, Ben worked as a General Practitioner and Senior Partner at the Holme-Bubwith Medical Group from 2005 to 2015. Ben was also a Director at Yorkshire Health Partners Limited from 2014 to 2015.

Ben began their career as a GP Registrar at Marcham Road Family Health Centre from 2004 to 2005. Ben then served as a Senior House Officer in the GP VTS Training Scheme at Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals NHS Trust from 2002 to 2004.

Their first role in the medical field was as a Pre-Registration House Officer at Queen Elizabeth Hospital from 2001 to 2002.

Ben White attended Newcastle University from 1996 to 2001, where they obtained a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.) degree in the field of Medicine. Ben later obtained additional certifications, including a Diploma of Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in July 2004, a Membership of Royal College of General Practitioners from the Royal College of General Practitioners in July 2005, and a Diploma of Legal Medicine from the Faculty of Forensic & Legal Medicine in November 2019.
