Steven D.

Steven D. has extensive work experience in the legal field. Steven began their career as an Accounts Clerk at David Tubby Solicitors in 2005. Steven then moved on to Calculus Legal Costs Holdings Limited in 2006, where they worked as a Technical Team Leader and Law Costs Draftsman. During their time there, they managed a team of 8 draftsmen and handled a variety of cases, including personal injury, clinical negligence, industrial disease, family, probate, and Court of Protection matters.

In 2010, Steven joined Evolution Costs Limited as a Costs Lawyer and Drafting Team Leader. Steven drafted bills of costs for cases such as personal injury, clinical negligence, industrial disease, financial mis-selling, and commercial property disputes. Steven also prepared statements of costs, points of dispute, and points of reply, working with both claimant and defendant cases.

Steven then moved on to work as a Costs Lawyer at Civil and Commercial Costs Lawyers Ltd in 2013, where they drafted bills of costs and negotiated settlements on multi-track matters. Steven also provided advice to solicitor clients on costs issues and assisted in technical development.

In the same year, Steven joined RMR Legal Cost Lawyers as a Costs Lawyer and later became a Director. In this role, they worked with two other directors to grow and shape the business, managing operational efficiency and seeking new opportunities through business development. Steven specialized in high-value multi-track matters, including catastrophic injury claims, clinical negligence, commercial matters, and professional negligence.

In 2015, Steven became a Council Member at the Association of Costs Lawyers. During their time there, they contributed to the organization's activities and decision-making until 2018.

Most recently, Steven worked as the Head of Costs at the Medical Protection Society from 2016 to 2019. In this role, they led the legal costs services function, overseeing claims, cases, and regulatory matters globally. Steven also provided leadership to costs advisers based in England, Ireland, and South Africa.

In 2021, Steven was promoted to the Head of Legal Services at the Medical Protection Society. In this role, they continued to contribute their expertise to the organization's Member Protection & Support Division.

Steven D. completed their LLB degree in Law at the University of Manchester from the year 2001 to 2004. Steven then pursued a Legal Practice Course at The Manchester Metropolitan University from 2004 to 2005. Following this, they attended the Association of Costs Lawyers (ACL) from 2008 to 2011 to obtain a Costs Lawyer degree. Lastly, Steven completed an online marketing diploma at the Shaw Academy, but the start year is not provided, and they finished in 2015.
