Miriam Chiumia

Miriam Chiumia is a dedicated professional with extensive experience in program assistance, community development, and gender issues. Currently serving as a Program Assistant at IOM - UN Migration and a Senior Fellow at The Melton Foundation, Miriam is also a member of the UNESCO SDG4 Youth Network, which influences global education policies. Previous roles include Project Officer at the Migration Youth & Children Platform and Community Led Development Facilitator at CorpsAfrica, where efforts focused on empowerment and collaboration for local communities. Past experience includes working as a Programme Officer at Lydia Action, enhancing women's economic resources, and as a Development Trainer at Chance for Change. Miriam's foundational roles include serving as an Assistant Gender Officer at the Ministry of Gender, Community Development and Social Welfare and achieving a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from DMI St. John the Baptist University, supplemented by a Diploma in Gender and Development from LUANAR.
