Elisa Bala M.D.

Elisa Bala MD, MSc, MBA, currently serves as the Director of Eye Service and Staff Surgeon-Ophthalmologist at The MetroHealth System in Cleveland, OH, since September 2013. Additionally, Elisa is a member of the Emerging Leaders Council at the same institution. Previously, Elisa was a Surgical Ophthalmology Consultant at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center from September 2013 to February 2020 and worked as a Research Associate at the Cleveland Clinic from August 2003 to May 2008. Educational qualifications include an Executive MBA from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University, a Glaucoma Fellowship from the Cleveland Clinic - Cole Eye Institute, an Ophthalmology Residency from Case Western Reserve University, a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics from Erasmus University Rotterdam, and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Tirana.
