Andre Fernandez is an accomplished sports journalist with extensive experience in various roles, currently serving as the Deputy Sports Editor for the Miami Herald since December 2021, where responsibility includes coordinating sports coverage and producing podcasts. Previously, Andre worked as a Sports Reporter for the Tallahassee Democrat, covering Florida State University athletics, and held freelance writing positions at the Miami Herald focusing on multiple sports beats. Andre's background also includes a two-year tenure at The Athletic, covering the Miami Marlins, Miami Heat, and Jacksonville Jaguars, along with a long-standing career at the Miami Herald Media Company, where contributions spanned from 1999 to 2018. Andre holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication, Journalism, and Related Programs from the University of Miami and an Associate of Arts degree in Journalism from Miami Dade College.
