Claire Heddles is a seasoned journalist currently serving as a Senior Political Correspondent for the Miami Herald since September 2025. Previously, Claire held the position of Politics Reporter at NOTUS from September 2023 to August 2025 and worked as an Enterprise Reporter at Jacksonville Today in 2022-2023. With experience as a Reporter at WJCT Public Media (2021-2022) and WUOT (2019-2021), as well as roles at NPR as an Operations Temp and National Desk Intern in 2019, Claire began a journalistic career after serving as News Editor and Staff Reporter at USC Annenberg Media from July 2018 to June 2019. Additionally, experience as a Reporter at KXSC Radio (2019) and Breaking News Video Producer at The Advocate (2017-2018) complements Claire's diverse skill set, which also includes project management and copywriting at Small Green Door from 2015 to 2018. Claire Heddles earned a Master of Science in Journalism from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with minors in Economics and Global Studies from Azusa Pacific University.
