Denis Borrero has a strong background in IT security assurance. Denis began their career in 2008 as a Senior Systems Administrator at USAMITC Army Contractor via TEKsystems and All Technologies, where they worked until 2009. Denis then joined the US Army Medical Information Technology Center as a Senior Information Assurance Engineer from 2009 to 2013. In 2013, Denis joined Defense Health Agency, where they initially served as the Chief of the IT Security Assurance Section (J-6) until 2018. Denis then transitioned into the role of Lead, IT Security Assurance Architect (J-5) in October 2018 and continues in that role.
Denis Borrero holds a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from American InterContinental University, which they obtained from 2004 to 2005. Denis also has an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Business Administration and Management, General from the same university, which they earned from 2003 to 2004. Additionally, they have obtained various certifications including Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) from (ISC)² in 2016, MCITP certifications in Database Administrator 2008, Database Developer 2008, and Enterprise Administrator on Windows Server 2008 from Microsoft in 2011, CNSSI certifications in Senior Systems Managers and Risk Analyst from CNSSI in 2011, Information Systems Security Engineering Professional (CISSP-ISSEP) from (ISC)² in 2010, DAWIA (DAU) IT Level III certification from Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act in 2010, and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)² in 2008.

DHA carries out these operations using a global health care network of military and civilian medical professionals and more than 400 military hospitals and clinics. This network strengthens the delivery of health care to MHS beneficiaries by merging proven clinical and business practices and emphasizing the experience of the patient. Exciting changes are taking place as we are in the process of reorganizing how we manage the military’s medical centers, hospitals and clinics around the world, shifting administration and management responsibility for these facilities from the Army, Navy and Air Force to the Defense Health Agency.
