Kristin Gomez D'Ambrosio

Kristin Gomez D'Ambrosio, MA has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Kristin is the Founder & Owner of Thrive Doula Solutions, where they serve as a Postpartum Doula. Prior to this, they were actively involved as a Board Member and Fundraising Co-Chair at Explorer Preschool, contributing to the organization's strategic governance and leadership. At Explorer Preschool, Kristin utilized their connections, networks, and resources to further the preschool's mission and led a fundraising committee of 10+ members. Kristin planned, organized, and executed various fundraising projects throughout the school year. Additionally, they brought in a network of local contacts to help build the income of Explorer Preschool and strengthen community and donor relationships.

Before their involvement in the education sector, Kristin embarked on a career pause with The Mom Project from 2016 onwards. Prior to that, they worked as an Independent Consultant with Arbonne International LLC.

Kristin worked as an Interim School Counselor at Santa Clara County Office of Education, providing support to students in grades 7-12 who had been expelled from their districts or recently released from Juvenile Hall. Kristin also served as an English Second Language Tutor, developing an English curriculum for ESL students and facilitating group lessons focused on communication, pronunciation, reading comprehension, and accent reduction.

Furthermore, Kristin served as a School Counselor at Sierra School, where they assisted students individually and in groups with academic, career, and personal/social skills and collaborated with parents and educators on educational and career planning. Kristin also worked as a School Counselor Intern at Santa Clara County Office of Education, providing academic, career, and college counseling to approximately 150 students at court and community schools.

In addition to their roles in the education and counseling fields, Kristin had experience with non-profit program management. Kristin worked as a Program and Impact Manager at The Respect Institute, a non-profit organization that supports the teaching of respect to youth. Kristin participated in the launch of the organization, advised on program development, and focused on attracting program partners and funders. Kristin also researched, wrote, and applied for grant opportunities to obtain funding and establish long-term relationships with partners.

Earlier in their career, Kristin worked as an Office Coordinator at Fuscoe Engineering, where they provided administrative support, handled incoming calls, greeted visitors, and facilitated project management tasks.

Prior to this, they obtained a Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential in School Counseling from San Jose State University in 2011. In 2010, they completed their Master of Arts (MA) degree in Education with a concentration in Counseling and Student Personnel, also from San Jose State University. Their undergraduate education included a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Liberal Studies from San Jose State University, which they obtained in 2005.
