Proofreader

*This position can be based in our Baton Rouge or New Orleans office, and some hybrid work is available.

The Moran Group is looking for an accuracy-loving Proofreader. As a team member working with our Digital Content, Creative, and Accounts teams, you will oversee the accuracy of webpages, TV ads, emails, print pieces, and other marketing materials. This candidate will be proficient in basic and advanced grammar rules, meticulous in reviewing copy, noting errors such as punctuation, spelling, and word usage, and knows how to check statements for accuracy or potential plagiarism. You must communicate effectively with the writers and other staff to ensure documents meet all company guidelines.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review advertising materials for grammar, spelling, and style
• Fact-check dates and other statements for accuracy
• Confirm all submitted writing is original
• Ensure text meets tone and character count outlined by company and client policies
• Make corrections and suggest edits to the document
• Meet proofreading deadlines

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in relevant experience
• Excellent grammar and communication skills
• Proficiency in basic computer programs, such as Microsoft Office or Google Suite
