Laura Canty-Samuel is an accomplished storyteller, actress, and comedy writer with extensive experience in live performance and content creation. Since October 2025, Laura has served as a Mainstage storyteller at The Moth, captivating large audiences with real-life narratives performed without notes. Concurrently, Laura performs improv and musical comedy at The Second City, collaborating with rotating casts. Since July 2020, Laura has contributed as a comedy writer for Sesame Workshop and other notable organizations, including ABC/Disney and CBS Diversity Sketch Comedy Showcase. In addition, Laura has held roles such as Artistic Director at The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, where efforts focused on enhancing diversity within the comedy community. Laura's education includes training in comedy writing and performance at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre and a Bachelor's degree in Public Communication from Brooklyn College.
