Neil Schachter

Neil Schachter is a distinguished medical professional serving as the Maurice Hexter Professor of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai since 1984, where responsibilities include teaching and clinical research. Additionally, Neil holds the position of Medical Director for the Respiratory Care Department at Mount Sinai Health System and provides patient care as an attending physician at The Mount Sinai Hospital. Prior to this, Neil spent a decade at Yale University School of Medicine and Yale-New Haven Hospital, focusing on research, teaching, and patient care in Pulmonary and Environmental Medicine. Neil earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from NYU School of Medicine and an AB in Mathematics from Columbia College, Columbia University.
