The Mountaineers
Leslie Gobel is an experienced education and program coordinator currently serving as the Overnight Camps Program Coordinator at The Mountaineers since December 2023. Previously, Leslie held various roles at Insight Climbing & Movement, including Community Programs Manager and Operations Manager, and gained instructional experience as a Summer Instructor at IslandWood. Additional experience includes positions as a Kayak Guide at LA JOLLA SEA CAVE KAYAKS, LLC, a STEM Instructor at the Elementary Institute of Science, and a Marine Science Instructor at Seacamp San Diego. Leslie has a solid academic foundation, holding a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Science from the University of San Diego. Skills developed over the course of various roles include organization, communication, teamwork, and public speaking, alongside hands-on research related to environmental science.

The Mountaineers is a community of outdoor enthusiasts passionate about exploration, discovery, learning, and conservation. Founded in 1906 by 151 visionaries, our members named peaks and explored waterways and built trails to uncover unique and challenging landscapes. We helped create the North Cascades Wilderness area, and passed the National Wilderness Act. With an average of 6 activities a day to help you climb, ski, hike, paddle, sail, snowshoe, scramble, and more, we invite you to join us to lose yourself in the outdoors.
