Senior Director of Institutional Advancement at The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley

Laura Kerr Wiley has a diverse work experience in various roles related to institutional advancement, community engagement, and development. Laura is currently serving as the Senior Director of Institutional Advancement at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, where they are responsible for developing and implementing philanthropic strategies to advance the organization's goals. Prior to this, they were the Director of Community Engagement at the same museum.

Laura also has experience working at The Filson Historical Society, where they held multiple roles including Director of Development, Director of Membership and Annual Giving, and Capital Campaign and Annual Fund Manager. Laura has also worked as an Adjunct Professor of History at Indiana Wesleyan University and Sterling College. In addition, Laura has previously served as an Assistant Director at the Huntington Learning Center and as a Membership and Development Assistant at the Historic Crab Orchard Museum and Pioneer Park.

Laura Kerr Wiley earned their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in History from Bluefield University, where they studied from 2006 to 2009. Laura went on to pursue a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Early American and U.S. History from William & Mary, completing their studies from 2009 to 2011.
