Sharareh Akhavan

Sharareh Akhavan is currently working as a Project leader and Associate Professor at Socialstyrelsen - Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare. Sharareh is leading projects related to child and youth welfare, health promotion reforms, and care and treatment for women and girls who have been subjected to FGM in Sweden. Previously, Sharareh served as an Associate Professor at Mälardalen University, teaching and supervising students in Public Health Sciences and leading research projects on equity. Sharareh holds a Doctor in Medicine and a Master of Public Health from Karolinska Institutet.
