Sir Christopher Benson has had a distinguished career in business and in public service. He has been Chairman of some of the UK’s largest companies including MEPC, Royal and Sun Alliance, Boots the Chemist, Costain and Albright and Wilson.
His many public, charitable and other appointments have included Chairman of the London Docklands Development Corporation, High Sheriff of Wiltshire, Vice President of the Royal Society of Arts, Master of the Company of Watermen and Lightermen and President of the Coram Foundation.
He continues to hold many honorary appointments with organisations within the City of London, the Inns of Court and universities. His appointments with charities include Chairman of Salisbury Vision, Vice President of Macmillan Cancer Care and Patron of Changing Faces.
