Maria Chambers

Maria Chambers has extensive experience in leadership roles focusing on services for children and young people, particularly those with disabilities. Currently serving as the Director of Services and Innovation at the National Deaf Children's Society since January 2021, Maria previously held the position of Chief Executive Officer at CancerCare North Lancashire and South Cumbria. Prior experience includes serving as Director Of Education at Ambitious about Autism and Director of Children and Young Persons Services at Scope, where responsibilities included overseeing a substantial budget and a large staff. Additionally, Maria has worked as an Additional Ofsted Inspector and as a Special Education Consultant, providing leadership and consultancy services to enhance education for young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
