Patrick Hughes

Patrick Hughes has a diverse work experience spanning various organizations and roles. Currently, they are the Senior Vice President of Strategy, Technical, and Industry Affairs at the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA), where they lead a team of technical experts in developing and publishing standards, advocating for strong building codes, and promoting efficient and sustainable electrical technologies. Prior to their current role, Patrick held positions such as Vice President of Operations and Strategy at NEMA and Senior Director of Government Relations and Strategic Initiatives. Before joining NEMA, they worked at the United Nations Foundation, focusing on energy and climate policies to increase energy efficiency and promote renewable energy resources. Patrick's previous experience includes working at the Energy Future Coalition, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH), and the U.S. House of Representatives.

Patrick Hughes has a Master of Science degree in Energy Policy and Climate Science from The Johns Hopkins University. Prior to their master's degree, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Spanish from the University of Rochester.
