John Booth

John is an entrepreneur and philanthropist who chairs a number of public and private companies including Maintel plc and the London Theatre Company. He also serves as a non-executive director of several investment management businesses and has a range of venture capital interests in e-commerce, media and telecommunications. He is Chairman of The Prince’s Trust and a trustee of Chatsworth House and the Arts Foundation. John read Modern Languages at Oxford University where is a Fellow of Merton College and chairs the Development Board. He is an ambassador for the homelessness charity Depaul International, a Deputy Lieutenant for West Sussex and sits on the Honours Committee.

John joined the Board in February 2021 as the Tate liaison Trustee. He was appointed to the National Gallery Board and as Chairman in August 2021.
