Jeferson Almeida is a research professional with extensive experience in land management and environmental policies, focusing on issues related to forest crimes and public land theft in the Amazon. Since joining Imazon in March 2017 as a Pesquisador Assistente I, Jeferson has engaged in various research roles, including analyzing public policies and practices and exploring the link between land management and environmental issues. Jeferson holds academic qualifications from multiple institutions, including a specialization in Environmental Law from Universidade Federal do Paraná and another in Law and Sustainability from Faculdade Lapa. Additionally, Jeferson has contributed to social projects, serving as a mentor and ambassador for initiatives such as the Brazil Conference at Harvard & MIT and Movimento Choice. Previous research experience includes involvement with the Human Rights Clinic of the Amazon and the Programa Conexões de Saberes at UFPA, alongside international cooperation projects with Freie Universität Berlin.
