Katherine Skinner has over three decades of experience in conservation and leadership, currently serving as the State Director for The Nature Conservancy since September 1986. In this role, Katherine manages all aspects of the North Carolina chapter, focusing on conservation efforts, government relations, finance, fundraising, and communications. Katherine has successfully completed three capital campaigns, raising $15 million in 1996, $20 million in 2004, and $20 million in 2012. Previously, Katherine worked as Committee Staff for the U.S. House of Representatives from August 1981 to August 1986. Katherine holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Vanderbilt University, as well as a Bachelor's degree in History and Economics from Salem College.
