Melissa Moran serves as the Director of Community Programs at The Nature Conservancy since September 2015, where responsibilities include leading initiatives to engage and inspire Hoosiers to take action for nature through various communication and volunteer strategies. Previously, Melissa was a Community Outreach Coordinator at The Nature Conservancy, focusing on connecting K-12 students with nature through the Children of Indiana Nature Park project. With a strong background in environmental engineering, Melissa worked as a Water Engineer and Project Manager and held positions at ARCADIS, where leadership involved managing global water supply and treatment projects. Earlier career experiences include engineering roles at Malcolm Pirnie and Fundación Solar in Guatemala, alongside a research assistant position at the University of Texas at Austin. Melissa holds an MS in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University.
