Rebecca Smith

Rebecca Smith is the Great Plains Division Director at The Nature Conservancy, where extensive experience spans over two decades, focusing on innovative conservation strategies across grasslands and freshwater systems. Previous roles include serving as the Mississippi River Basin Project Director and Upper Mississippi River Program Director, emphasizing water quality and restoration efforts in multiple states. Earlier positions include Deputy Director of the Wisconsin chapter, as well as leadership roles in women's programs and counseling services at Harper College and the Greater Cincinnati YWCA. Rebecca holds a Master of Arts in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin.
