Andy Omel has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of design. Andy has worked as a Design Director at The New Republic since 2021. Prior to that, they ran their own design business called Andy Omel Design, where they served as a Freelance Design Director since 2007, working with clients such as Condé Nast, Kaplan Hecker & Fink LLC, and ESPN.

Andy Omel has a diverse education history. In 1989, they started their undergraduate studies at the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, majoring in Marketing. Andy completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing in 1993.

After graduating from college, Andy pursued further education in Graphic Design. From 1993 to 1995, they attended Pratt Institute, where they obtained an Associate of Occupational Studies (AOS) degree in Graphic Design.

In 2014 and 2015, Andy further expanded their skillset by studying UX/UI Design and Visual Design at General Assembly. Although they did not earn a specific degree during this time, they gained valuable knowledge and expertise in these fields.

In addition to their formal education, Andy also obtained a certification in "Learning Design Thinking: Lead Change in Your Organization" from LinkedIn in August 2019.
