Barbara Adams

Barbara Adams is a distinguished academic with extensive experience in art, design, and social justice. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Parsons School of Design - The New School, Adams also holds positions as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the School of Design Strategies and an Instructor. Since September 2018, Adams has been the Associate Director of Research and Academic Initiatives at the DESIS Lab. Additionally, Adams contributes as Co-Editor in Chief at Design and Culture. Previously, Adams served as the Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow in Design at Wesleyan University and worked as a Teaching Fellow at Parsons School of Design from 2005 to 2017. Adams earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Sociology from the New School for Social Research.
